Dear Kewaunee Middle School Students and Families,
Welcome to Kewaunee Middle School! If you are new to KMS, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to you!  We are thrilled to have you here and hope you take advantage of all of the opportunities at KMS.   
KMS provides all students with engaging learning experiences in a safe and respectful environment.  Our KMS PBIS (Positive Behaviors and Interventions and Supports) team will focus on “KEEPING IT REEL!” REEL stands for:
R - Responsible-Teaching you to grow and learn as responsible citizens
E -  Expect-Doing what is expected of you in each area each day
E -  Employability-Preparing for your future-make sure you’re college and career ready
L -  Lead-Strengthening your leadership skills
There are opportunities for each of you to be involved and develop your leadership skills in many different activities and sports.  KMS is fortunate to have an amazing staff that is available to support and encourage you to become the best that you can be. At KMS, we believe that working collaboratively with your families and parents is an integral part of your success as a student and as a person.  
The middle school years are very important and we want to guide, teach, and help you grow in preparation for high school, college and careers. We believe the middle school experience counts greatly in helping to build in you a strong character and a solid educational foundation.
This handbook is intended to be a resource for you and your families to use throughout the school year. Please become familiar with its contents and discuss with your families the expectations contained within the document.
