Welcome to Kewaunee School District Print E-mail

Dear Community Members:

Winter is upon us, but spring is only six weeks away.  It is hard to believe that another semester has started and I hope your students have settled in.

I wanted to share some things with you that you may not know:

  • The Chamber Choir will be selling “Sing-O-Grams” for Valentine’s Day.  Proceeds will go to relief efforts in Haiti.
  • We are extremely proud of the students who work in the Copy Center.  They help us with the Community Connection each month and we appreciate your work.
  • The first grade team decided for the 100th day of school to collect food items for the local food pantry.  Their goal is to collect at least 100 items per classroom.  Each item that is brought in is accompanied by a math activity.  What a great way to promote learning and celebrate 100 days.
  • Our 4th grade teacher Mrs. Rohr says, “She is proud of her students for accepting and caring about their classmates.  They also do their best every day. She is proud to be their teacher because they amaze her on a daily basis and bring out the best in her.  She is also proud to teach in the Kewaunee School District because we are doing great things, we have great students, staff, and families.”
  • Miss Tauchen, in our music department, is very proud of the band students who have been volunteering their time to perform for the home basketball games.  They have learned several new songs and are doing an awesome job of performing.
  • Mr. Worth is proud of the terrific art projects his students have created.

This is just is small piece of the pie regarding our wonderful school district.  Staff, you never hear it enough, but keep up the good work.  I appreciate it and the kids deserve nothing but the best!
