On October 8th, the Kindergarteners visited the Kewaunee Fire Station to learn about fire safety. The firefighters taught them about how fire is good and bad, stop, drop and roll, and to stay low and go if there is smoke. If there was a fire, the students learned to get out and stay out and what to do if a firefighter is looking for them. They also talked to them about the gear and tools a firefighter needs to fight a fire. The firefighters gave the students homework to do with their families, too. They were instructed to create an escape plan and find a place to to meet in case there was a fire in their house. Each student even got to spray the fire hose, see the inside and outside of the fire truck and even got their own fire hat and badge! A big thank you to the Kewaunee Fire Fighters for taking the time to teach our students about fire safety. The students loved it!
