Students in grades 4K and Kindergarten have been practicing their steady beat skills. They often see the classroom elephant, Louis, who helps them stay motivated for displaying positive behaviors and will sometimes practice skills with the class. This week, the classes will show their steady beat skills to Louis’ friend Madame Moo in a special visit from her.
Music students in grades 1-4 have been especially focused on their rhythm reading skills. We practice often through games and a repeat-after-me activity. Developing these skills will aid the students as they read sheet music in the future.
New to the program this year are adaptive music classes, which span even up to high school aged students. Each section is different and has offered a unique opportunity for its students to develop musical skills in a setting more suitable for their needs.
In 3K, we just enjoy and make music! We dance, sing, play, listen to music, and, some days, play instruments.
As we approach the end of October, grades 4K-4 will begin preparing for the winter concerts! Please mark your calendars with the recent date change. We hope to see you there!
