The 4K classrooms have been engaged in many fine motor activities already this year! We do fine motor activities mostly to strengthen the tiny muscles in our hands to get our young learners ready for writing! Fine motor muscles are also used to help us eat, draw, get dressed, play, and explore! Some ways that students practice building their fine motor skills at school are: paper ripping, cutting, crafts, play dough, coloring, drawing, tracing in shaving cream, painting, puzzles, getting dressed for recess, opening packaged food items, building with small blocks, and more! The cool thing about these activities is you can even do them at home with your child too!
