This month, the 4th graders were able to attend a field trip to the Wisconsin Farm Discovery Center! This opportunity provided our students with knowledge and experience with Wisconsin Agriculture. They were able to explore the interactive exhibits to discover how science and technology have made food production and processing more efficient, tour a local dairy farm to learn how Wisconsin dairy farms operate, and participate in a STEM activity, where they were able to dissect a seed to determine if it was a monocot or dicot!
Students also had the amazing opportunity to witness a calf being born! In honor of the class, the Farm Discovery Center staff let the students name the baby girl calf. To represent our school, she was named Storm!
Thank you very much to the Kewaunee County Dairy Promotion for sponsoring this amazing opportunity!
