We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the opportunity for our first graders to attend the play, The Magic School Bus Lost In the Solar System, at the Weidner Center. The experience served as a fantastic foreshadowing for our “Observing Sky Unit”, where the first graders studied moon phases, the sun's heat, seasonal changes, stars, shadows, and planets. They also wrote opinion pieces supported by researched facts, built models of the Big Dipper using paper cups and flashlights, and read a series of nonfiction books about the sky, planets, moon, stars, and sun.
We are proud to say that the students displayed great respect throughout the performance, and we would like to thank our group of chaperones for their support.
Thank you once again for supporting our students' learning experiences.
