Kindergarten had a truly memorable experience observing the life cycle of butterflies up close, all thanks to the wonderful Miss Terri Vandervest! Students had the chance to watch every stage of a butterfly’s journey—from tiny caterpillars munching on leaves, to hanging in the “J” position, transforming into chrysalises, and finally emerging as beautiful butterflies.
The classrooms were filled with excitement as students witnessed this incredible transformation firsthand. They asked thoughtful questions, made careful observations, and shared in the wonder of each stage. The highlight for everyone? Releasing the butterflies and watching them take flight—a moment that brought smiles all around!
This hands-on experience not only helped students understand life cycles but also inspired curiosity, strengthened observation skills, and fostered a deeper appreciation for the natural world. It was a perfect example of how science comes alive when we experience it firsthand!
