art

In the art room, elementary students have been learning new skills and growing in confidence as artists. Across all grade levels, so far we have been exploring the basic elements of art, including line, shape, value, and pattern in our work. We are building routines and good habits that help students care for tools, shared materials, and work respectfully in a creative space.

Second through fourth graders have been working on a collaborative paper quilling project featuring our school’s Storm logo. In this project, students learned how to roll strips of paper into quills and carefully glue them together to create a larger image. This artwork has been a great opportunity for students to practice patience, fine motor skills, and teamwork.

Looking ahead, students in 4K–4th grade will soon be creating special artwork for Art to Remember. These art products will be available for families to purchase in a variety of print and keepsake formats from stickers, to magnets, t-shirts and more.
