We would like to thank Katie Meier, Erin LaBonte, Julie Derenne and all of the other students and staff members who made last night’s fine arts night so successful. We have very talented artists, thespians, musicians, orators, and the like… It was wonderful to see a night that highlighted all of the talent we have in our schools. Thank you to the staff who support these students, departments, clubs and organizations. Congratulations and thank you for putting on a wonderful evening!

A Night of the Art

On Wednesday, May 1st, Kewaunee High School is hosting the first annual Fine Arts Night. It will take place from 6-8pm at Kewaunee High School. KHS and KMS students will be featured. The evening will begin with a performance of a scene from the recent production of The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon. Following that, there will be performances from the forensics team, band and choir students, and ensembles such as jazz band and thunder. There will also be showcases and demonstrations from the art and tech-ed departments and a pinata showcase from the Spanish program. Additionally, there will be fine arts department merch for sale, concessions, and a silent auction hosted by the music boosters. All money earned from the silent auction will go to the upcoming spring 2025 music department trip. The arts club will also be selling Luna Coffee to fundraise.

Due to the projected weather conditions, the Kewaunee School District will be closed Tues., Jan. 9, 2024. This includes before and after school childcare, all after-school activities and events.

Two Kewaunee Scholars Recognized at the State Level
The Kewaunee High School received some exciting news last week about two of our senior scholars. Ellie Delebreau and Ashley Petrina were informed that they are state-level finalists in their prospective categories for the National US Presidential Scholars Program. Both girls received a letter from State Superintendent Jill Underly congratulating them on their accomplishment and encouraging them to apply nationally, which is the last step in the process to receive national recognition for their outstanding achievements.
Ellie earned the distinction of being one of five state finalists in Category 4: By gaining
technical competence and accomplishment in career and technical education. She is very involved at the state FCCLA level, serving as the State President of the Wisconsin Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Executive Council. She also serves as a senior class officer, President of Student Council, and is a member of National Honor Society. Ellie is also a Youth Apprentice in the Marketing department for InitiviateOne, a leadership training institute located in Green Bay.
Ashley is one of twenty-five state finalists in Category 3: By nomination of the state
superintendent for outstanding scholarship while overcoming hurdles or challenges. She is involved in many things, such as the Bigs/Littles program, academic tutoring, Math Team, and the National Honor Society. Ashley is a member of the jazz band and performs in school plays and musicals. Ashley also volunteers for Hand-n-Hand of Northeastern Wisconsin, Inc.
The Kewaunee School District congratulates these two amazing students on their

One more week until the first day of school! Open House for the entire district will be held tomorrow, August 30th from 3:30-6:30. If you have not registered your child there will be computers available tomorrow for you to access.
KHS Students, your schedules are currently viewable in Infinite Campus, there will be printed copies available at Open House. Reminder to all Freshmen students that orientation will be held in the Plantico Theater at 5:30 tomorrow evening.
KMS Students, Homeroom/STORM Time teacher lists will be posted in the Grade School office windows when you enter tomorrow evening. Please go to your Homeroom classroom to pick up your schedule. For those who cannot attend Open House, schedules will be released in Infinite Campus on August 31. Reminder to 6th Grade students that there will be an orientation held in the Plantico Theater at 4:00.
